Agrawal started working for Twitter as the company’s first “distinguished” software engineer in 2011 and became the company’s chief technology officer in October 2017. Before joining Twitter, Agrawal held research positions at AT&T, Yahoo and Microsoft, according to his LinkedIn page. 2. He was Twitter’s chief technology officer. As the company’s chief technology officer, Agrawal was responsible for Twitter’s technical strategy and led efforts to implement artificial intelligence and machine learning across the company. 3. He’s an alumni of Stanford University and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford. 4. He led Twitter’s Bluesky decentralized social network project. Agrawal was previously in charge of finding a lead for the company’s Bluesky team. In 2019, Dorsey announced Twitter was hiring a team of software architects, engineers and designers “to develop an open and decentralized standard for social media.” The project is still being developed. 5.
